From Veliko Tarnovo to Warsaw: My Erasmus+ Adventure

When I applied for the “Erasmus+” programme, I didn’t know exactly what to expect. It was my first time travelling abroad for a longer period and my first real challenge outside my familiar environment. Today, after an unforgettable semester in Poland, I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions of my life.

I studied at the University of Lodz – a modern, well-organised, and strongly internationally oriented university. The courses I attended focused on real cases and challenges in the fields of governance and public policy. We worked on projects in international teams, and the lecturers encouraged critical thinking and active participation.

But “Erasmus+” is not only an academic exchange. It is a journey of personal growth. I met people from all over the world – from Spain to South Korea – with whom we shared cultures, traditions, food, music… and unforgettable moments. I learned to manage on my own, to plan my time and budget, and to appreciate the small things – like a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy evening or a conversation with a new friend in the student dormitory.

Poland surprised me with its hospitality, beautiful cities, and rich history. We spent weekends travelling – Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw… Every place brought a different energy and new lessons.

The “Erasmus+” programme taught me that the world is more accessible than we think and that knowledge has no borders. If you have doubts – don’t hesitate. Take that step. Because real growth begins the moment you step outside your comfort zone.
