| Course content |
The course unit Bulgarian History and Culture is addressed to students that receive their training under international programmes and projects at “St Cyril and St Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo. The lecture course gives general knowledge about the most important moments and tendencies in the historical development of the Bulgarian lands, the Bulgarian people and the Bulgarian state. The main stress is placed on issues concerning the foundation of the Bulgarian state, the Christianization, the creation of the Slavonic alphabet, the restoration of the Bulgarian Kingdom by the Assenevtsi brothers, the reign of Tsar Ivan Assen II, the National Revival period, the liberation from the Ottoman rule, etc. The lecture course includes PowerPoint presentations. The students attending the course should have a medium command of English – B2. |
